Shoes and Clothes for Kids
Stepping Up for Schools
I have been working with Shoes and Clothes for Kids, a nonprofit that serves the Greater Cleveland area. They aim to improve school attendance by eliminating the lack of appropriate shoes, clothes, and supplies as barriers. I acted as an Account Executive on this project and managed a team of three other students while coordinating with a BW staff liaison, the executive director, and the grants/content manager. This project aimed to complete a social media cleanup, create a strategic plan, and compile templates and content for publication by the organization.
Auditing
We began the project by looking into every platform and creating a list of weaknesses and strengths.
We also created a list of recommendation options for each of the weaknesses.
From this list of recommendations, we created a strategic plan that was proposed and presented to the executive director and grant/content manager.
Through researching and looking at analytics, we developed a content plan to meet the goals and mission of the organization.
Created graphics and captions for various themes for Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn. Most involved messaging related to their mission or points of success within the organization; we also included national theme days like the graphics below (ex, National Crayon Day). All this content was evergreen and organized within a Google sheet for organizational approval.
We were also tasked with rolling out a promotional plan for their winter fundraiser, “Socks in the City,” we received the branding for it and designed over four weeks of content for each platform.
Content Creation
I set to-dos for my teammates and communicated with them throughout the process, as well as reviewed and approved all of the content made by the team.
Weekly meetings were held with Tim Marshall, the head of the Digital Marketing Center, to ensure the project progress was moving along efficiently and submitting the best work.
Engaging and presenting in client-facing meetings with the content manager and executive director.
